The transportation company PT Whitesky Aviation, which is known for its Helicity (Helicopter City Transportation) product, is now expanding its business into new lines. This company not only rents helicopter taxi services but also penetrates into the field of Helicopter Management.
Whitesky Aviation CEO Denon Prawiraatmadja said this helicopter management business line is a collaboration with Bell Helicopter and Textron Financial Corporation.
Later consumers who are interested in owning a private helicopter can buy it through Whitesky Aviation.
"This Helicopter Management business line provides services to our customers, who want to buy helicopters can go through us. Then after they buy, the planes are entrusted to us so we are the management and maintenance," said Denon when met at the Singapore Air Show, Singapore.
In addition to providing services for purchases, Whitesky Aviation also has a helicopter purchase scheme that can be paid in installments over 10 years.
The average price of a Bell helicopter, said Denon, is around US$ 1.5 million or Rp. 20.2 billion. The price is almost the same as one unit of a Lamborghini car.
"So the buyer can buy with an advance of US$ 500 thousand, then the rest can be paid in installments over 10 years," he said.
"We hope that this scheme will make it easier for people to buy and own private helicopters," he continued.
This helicopter management business line has actually been run by Whitesky Aviation since 2011. However, at that time this service was only intended for corporations.
Denon hopes that the implementation of this business mode can introduce helicopters as a complementary mode of transportation for the wider community.
"We really appreciate the government's efforts to improve the ease of transportation by building many new roads and infrastructure. This helicopter can be used as an option and a complement to existing transportation modes," he concluded.
