Toyota Motor Corporation announced the launch of the completely redesigned Toyota Noah and Voxy Boxy MPVs in Japan.
First launched in November 2001, the Noah and Voxy are compact cabin MPVs developed to pursue the excellence of minivans, with sliding doors for easy entry and exit, and a spacious and comfortable cabin for multiple passengers and cargo.
As cars that are supported and loved by Japanese families, they are still one of the most popular cars, especially for active and dynamic families.
The new fourth generation Noah and Voxy have been reborn with even more comfort, convenience and quiet driving at the same time sophisticated and modern.
Leveraging the TNGA Platform
Using the TNGA platform (GA-C) for its basic structure, this MPV was developed to create even more powerful bliss in an exceptional packaging and operational ease.
Another target is to achieve greater minivan appeal through the use of the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
Noah is built on the concept of "regal, modern and high quality" combined with "mainstream and aggressive", while Voxy refers to "leading and unique."
The Welcab (vehicle for the disabled) model dramatically increases the range of wheelchair-adapted models and expands the cab configuration.
Body Structure Optimization
The optimization of the body structure allows for a more vertically aligned C-pillar than the previous model, achieving a distance of 1,295 mm between the left and right pillars.
Coupled with a cabin height of 1,405 mm, this design creates a more open feeling inside the cabin. The super large capacity luggage also provides underfloor storage which is useful for accommodating tall items and suitcases.
Spacious and Comfortable Cabin
The seven-seat model has a captain seat in the second row. In addition to the ottoman mechanism, a first for this class, and the heater, the center bench also has a large side table that folds up.
The third-row seats can be folded down with one touch of the lower profile, also allowing for an ultra-long sliding mechanism without compromising ride comfort. The eight-seat model is equipped with a bench for three in a 60/40 configuration in the second row.
A special bench for two with handrails is also provided as an option. With access space to the left of the second row, this configuration provides easy access to the third row seats even if the child seats are installed in the second row.
New Noah and Voxy are equipped with power sliding doors and have universal footing on the side of the front passenger seat. This foot step can move up and down smoothly following the movement of the sliding door.
The 200 mm high steps provide easy access for the whole family, from children to the elderly Ease of use is enhanced by the world's first stop-moving rear door, from any angle.
This makes it easy to access cargo from the rear door even if the space behind the vehicle is limited by walls or other obstructions.
Extremely rigid body, lightweight and balanced to provide high-quality ride comfort and excellent handling stability without feeling too high on the road. The geometry of the front and rear suspension has been optimized for a comfortable ride.
Featuring MacPherson struts at the front and torsion beam at the rear, this model has achieved a suspension system that creates smooth movement and smooth handling along with excellent tire grip.
Gasoline Efficient Hybrid Engine and E-Four Drive
All electric modules have been updated in a new generation hybrid system that uses a 1,800 cc (2ZR-FXE) engine.
Increased motor and battery output, as well as increased system efficiency take comfortable acceleration and outstanding fuel efficiency to new heights for minivans.
Leading in its class, the engine delivers fuel efficiency of up to 23.4 km/liter according to the WLTC test cycle.
The E-Four system inherits the latest hybrid technology. The increased electric motor output expands the 4WD's operating range while distributing more torque to the rear wheels.
Optimal control of torque distribution to the front and rear wheels during cornering improves vehicle stability, including increasing torque to the rear wheels when starting on incline, snowy or rainy roads.
Powerful Engine and 10-speed CVT Transmission
The combination of the 2,000 cc Dynamic Force Engine (M20A-FKS) and Direct Shift-CVT results in a powerful direct drive system with outstanding fuel efficiency in the 2.0 model.
As a gasoline-powered vehicle, its class-leading fuel efficiency of 15.1 km/liter was achieved under the WLTC test cycle.
Direct Shift-CVT comes with a 10-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic ratio for pleasant gearshifts with the typical feeling of a manual transmission.
The 4WD model comes with dynamic torque control which optimally distributes torque to the rear wheels according to vehicle conditions when starting or driving on slippery roads.
Toyota Safety Sense
The new Noah and Voxy are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, the latest active safety package with more advanced and improved functionality. This feature expands the range of anticipated accident risks.
The newest product in Toyota is Proactive Driving Assist.
The system supports steering and deceleration maneuvers to avoid getting too close to pedestrians, cyclists and parked vehicles.
The goal is to anticipate risks according to the driving situation, such as pedestrians crossing the road or a vehicle that suddenly moves.
Toyota Teammate
The new Noah and Voxy come with Advanced Drive (support during traffic jams) and Advanced Park (remote support) which are new functions in Toyota Teammate's advanced driving support technology.
Advanced Drive as a first on a Toyota product, operates under certain conditions such as cruising on toll roads and when Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist are activated in traffic jams (0-40 km/h).
This feature helps reduce driver fatigue in traffic jams and allows drivers to pay more attention to their surroundings to achieve a safe and comfortable driving atmosphere.
