Getting laid off is definitely not something fun. Even employees of the electric car giant Tesla, led by Elon Musk, have cried because they lost their jobs.
As reported, Elon Musk last month announced the layoffs of about 10% of Tesla employees on the grounds the economy was deteriorating. Executions have been carried out where some Tesla employees have been laid off.
An employee told anonymously that he was one of those who had been laid off after only 3 months working in IT. He revealed many employees who cried because of it.
"I remember the scene in The Wolf of Wall Street when the company was dissolved and everyone was crying. That scene is very similar to what happened at the Tesla factory in Fremont, California, two weeks ago," he was quoted as saying by Futurism.
"I saw the security guard near the gate and people coming out past them. I saw people crying in the lobby and wondering what they were crying about," he said.
Employees who have been laid off will still receive their full salary for two months and later receive other benefits. They were also asked to immediately return the company's laptop facilities.
On the other hand, Elon Musk corrected the number of Tesla employees who were laid off by mass. Previously the figure was in the range of 10% but in a recent email, Musk explained that 10% is a percentage of cutting permanent employees and on the other hand, Tesla will increase the number of contract employees. This means that according to him, only 3.5% of employees have been laid off.
Previously, Tesla was also legally sued by a former employee who claimed he was laid off not according to the rules so that it was arbitrary. How did Elon Musk react?
Apparently Elon Musk admits he doesn't really care about these demands. "Let's not read too much into initial groundless lawsuits," he said.
