The Hyundai Stargazer was officially announced at GIIAS 2022 which took place last August. This car is predicted to be the strongest rival of the Toyota Avanza.
This is because Stargazer has many features that are no less interesting than the All New Avanza. Among them is the existence of the Hyundai SmartSense. An active safety feature that is also on par with the All New Avanza's Toyota Safety Sense (TSS).
But can the sales of the Hyundai Stargazer be even more successful than the Avanza? Apparently not.
Hyundai Stargazer Supply Continues to Drop in October 2022
Recently GAIKINDO (Indonesian Association of Automotive Industries) showed wholesales (shipments from factories to dealers) for all types of four-wheeled or more motorized vehicles in the country.
Likewise for the LMPV segment which is filled with quite a lot of players. Starting from the duet of Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia, then there is Suzuki Ertiga, Mitsubishi Xpander, Nissan Livina, and the youngest player, Stargazer.
At the beginning of its appearance, sales of Stargazer immediately stuck. GAIKINDO noted that 3,955 Stargzer units were sent to dealers. This makes the car in sixth place on the list of best-selling cars in Indonesia.
Unfortunately, in the following month, September 2022, Hyundai supplied 2,839 Stargazer units to their dealer network. As a result, the position of this car slipped to number 10.
The decline in sales was even more pronounced in October 2022. Last month, Stargazer only distributed 1,484 units, and knocked it out of the list of the top 10 most requested cars in Indonesia.
Toyota Avanza is still mighty in its class
If Stargazer sales continue to decline, then Avanza will not. This Toyota LMPV continues to be entrenched at the top.
For example, in the August 2022 period, when Stargazer is in sixth position, Avanza is number one with sales of 7,030 units. In the following month, Avanza was again the best-selling in Indonesia with sales of 6,855 units.
Avanza's performance slightly decreased in October 2022 with a total of 4,958 units. But Avanza is still more in demand than Stargazer.
