Elon Musk vs Jack Ma, Differing Opinions on Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) or artificial intelligence is predicted to fulfill human life in the future. AI is projected to solve various human problems.

However, famous technology figures have different views from each other. There is a difference of opinion from Alibaba Founder Jack Ma and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

According to Jack Ma, AI will open a new chapter in social life. Even artificial intelligence helps humans to understand themselves better.

"I don't think AI is a threat at all. People who are afraid of artificial intelligence are people who get knowledge from campus," said Jack Ma, launching Entrepreneur, Jakarta, Tuesday (3/9/2019).

According to him, computer intelligence will not be able to compete with human intelligence. However, this statement was rejected by Musk.

"I think everyone underestimates the capabilities of AI. Even though they imagine AI as a smart human being, AI is much more powerful than that," Musk said.

Even so, Ma guessed that with the presence of AI, new jobs would decrease a lot. This is caused by old jobs being taken over by AI.

"We won't need a lot of work, AI or robots will do it," added Ma.

Almost akin to Jack Ma, Musk says AI will make work pointless. Better to learn artificial intelligence techniques.

"I would recommend studying engineering because that's kind of thing, or doing something where people can just interact with other people. Art, of course," he says.

When asked how much longer humans can live with the help of AI, Musk answered by focusing on his neurotechnology company, Neuralink Corporation.

“If we were doing a neuralink basically, age wouldn't matter as much. You can save your country and restore your country, like a saved game, or something very close to that," he said.

He went on to say that environmental factors are relatively small for prolonging life. "You have to change the DNA. And the question is, are people going to be okay with changing the DNA, maybe it's a good thing that we're basically dead," Musk said.

This was also agreed by Ma. Where did he say, dying is fun.

It is true that technology has become an inseparable part of human life, from managing activities, shopping, traveling, ordering food, and so on. The reason is, the human relationship with technology makes us like Cyborgs.
