Toyota Fortuner
The Toyota Fortuner deserves to be included in the list of the best SUV cars for 2022 in the ladder frame SUV category considering its good sales performance. The number of wholesales or shipments from factories to car dealers last April reached 2,231 units.
The model that is most in demand is the 4×2 2.8 GR Sport AT variant which, according to the manufacturer's official website, is sold at IDR 612.3 million.
Of course, the Toyota Fortuner is not alone in playing in the ladder frame SUV category. Another option is the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport which is offered at a price range of IDR 529.6-712.5 million.
The best-selling variant of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is the Dakar (4×2) AT which is offered at IDR 603.2 million.
Toyota Rush
Toyota also dominates sales in the LSUV category through the Toyota Rush, which last April recorded wholesales of 3,194 units. The best-selling variant is the 1.5 GR Sport MT which sells for IDR 290.3 million.
Compared to its rivals, the Toyota Rush has the characteristics of its wheel drive which still uses the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) system.
Another option in the LSUV category is this car's twin, the Daihatsu Terios, which is in second place in wholesale sales. In addition, consumers are also faced with the Honda BR-V, Suzuki XL7 or Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.
In terms of appearance, the Honda BR-V and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross are arguably fresher because they have only received updates in the last year.
Toyota Raize
Another model that deserves to be included in the ranks of the best SUVs in 2022 is the Toyota Raize. Last April, this car recorded wholesales of 1,851 units, which means the most compared to other cars in the small SUV class.
The best-selling variant is the 1.0T GR Sport CVT Two Tone which sells for IDR 280.2 million. To note, this car is actually also available with a 1.2 alias 1,200 cc engine option, but the number of sales is still less than the 1,000 cc turbo variants.
Other models that could also be an option for the small SUV category include the twin of this car, the Daihatsu Rocky. In addition, consumers can also choose the Kia Sonet or Nissan Magnite.
