After the Grand Vitara, which uses Smart Hybrid technology, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid 2023 is apparently also being prepared. That means there will be three models from the manufacturer with the "S" logo using the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) system.
The Suzuki Grand Vitara itself has been launched at the 2023 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). Its presence coincides with the Suzuki S-Presso improvement which offers a new engine as well as additional comfort and safety features.
However, it seems that PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) does not want to be satisfied until there. Suzuki Asih has another hero who will launch in the coming months.
Suzuki XL7 Hybrid 2023 Launch Schedule
Another Suzuki hero who is ready to launch is the newest XL7. The LSUV version of the Ertiga has actually been sold publicly in India since last year. At that time, his presence was close to the Ertiga Smart Hybrid.
For the Indonesian market itself, since 2020, Suzuki has never made any overhaul of the XL7. This means that it is now three years old without any significant changes, so it feels necessary to update.
According to an internal Suzuki source who was contacted, the manufacturer will launch the new XL7 in June 2023. This means that it will still take about three months from now.
Keep Using the Suzuki Ertiga Machine
Not much information was conveyed by the source who did not want his name written. However, he said that the Suzuki XL7 2023 will use the same hybrid technology as the Ertiga and Grand Vitara.
But most likely, this latest XL7 will use an engine similar to the Ertiga Hybrid instead of adopting the Grand Vitara engine. That is, the engine with a capacity of 1,500 cc with the code K15B with a power of 104 PS and 138 Nm of torque will be thrown. The transmission options are still 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.
As a car with mild-hybrid technology, the K15B engine is also supported by an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) component and a lithium-ion battery that stores electrical energy and distributes it to start and add power to the engine.
Currently, the Suzuki XL7 has six types, namely Zeta MT, Zeta AT, Beta MT, Beta AT, Alpha MT and Alpha AT.
