Toyota Alphard and Vellfire 2023 Use TNGA and New Engine


Information regarding the Toyota Alphard 2023 is starting to unfold little by little. After the appearance of the exterior and interior leaked from a source in China, this time regarding the type of engine that will be used and the fate of the continuation of its twin, the Toyota Vellfire.

Reporting from Creative Trend, Friday (03/03/2023), both Alphard and Vellfire will get the latest engines, some of which even have turbocharged engines. This also confirms that Vellfire will still be continued in the form of the latest generation.

Toyota Alphard 2023 Has Turbo and Hybrid Engine Options

Still from the same source, the latest Alphard will come in two engine options. The first is a 2,500 cc engine coded A25A-FKS, and another 2,500 cc hybrid engine coded A25A-FXS.

The 2023 Toyota Vellfire also gets two engine choices. But both are non-hybrid, namely the 2,400 cc turbo engine coded T24A-FTS and the 2,500 cc naturally aspirated engine coded A25A-FXS.

Apart from the engine, these two luxury MPVs will also switch platforms to become TNGA. So that structurally it is certain that it will be different compared to the previous generation Alphard.

Not a New Machine For Toyota

Even though they are new for the Toyota Alphard 2023 or Vellvire 2023, these machines have actually been used by several of the latest Toyota and Lexus products. For example, the Camry, RAV4, Highlander, to the latest generation of the Lexus RX, which adopts a plug-in hybrid engine with a capacity of 2,500 cc.

If you look at the engine specifications of some of these cars, the latest 2,500 cc engine is capable of producing 204 PS of power. Meanwhile, the 2,500 cc hybrid engine has 178 PS of power. This record is bigger than the old 2,500 cc engine which powered 182 PS (non-hybrid) and 152 PS (hybrid).

Meanwhile, the turbo petrol engine with a capacity of 2,400 cc has a power of 278 PS and 430 Nm of torque, compared to the 3,500 cc engine with a V6 configuration which produces 301 PS of power and 361 Nm of torque.

These two luxury MPVs are said to officially launch on the Japanese market on June 7 2023. Alphard will be available in five types in Japan, namely G petrol, G hybrid, Z petrol, Z hybrid, and Executive Lounge hybrid, while the Vellfire is only in two types, namely Z Premier petrol dam Executive Lounge hybrid.
