The New Mitsubishi SUV, that's the temporary name that is currently juxtaposed with the figure of Mitsubishi's new car.
Officially all information regarding the car will be disclosed at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) at ICE, BSD Tangerang, on August 10 2023.
But during the introduction of The New SUV, Mitsubishi apparently leaked that the heart of the pacemaker embedded in the car would be embedded with a 1.5-liter CVT transmission engine and a front-wheel drive system or Front Wheel Drive (FWD).
For the 1.5-liter heart raceme, Mitsubishi actually has a machine with this capacity, which is used by Xpander and Xpander Cross with code 4A91 with MIVEC DOHC technology.
On paper, the machine is capable of producing 105 PS of peak power at 6,000 rpm with 141 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
It's just that even though it's likely that the engine is the same, there are some that have been reset, whether it's power or torque, and so on.
Of course, with this leak, The New SUV is ready to fight in the Sport Utility Vehicle or Compact SUV segment, where its competitors have been waiting, such as the Honda HR-V, Hyundai Creta, Chery Omoda 5, Toyota Yaris Cross, and Wuling Alvez.
The New Mitsubishi SUV Was Developed Long Enough
Mitsubishi's newest SUV is indeed quite interesting because its design is indeed quite evocative, and could be another option for those who want to have a Compact SUV but are reluctant to choose HR-V, Creta, Alvez, Omoda 5 or Yaris Cross.
Meanwhile, when talking about design, Watanabe himself stated that to develop this car it took several years to meet the needs of the Compact SUV market.
"In addition to the robust and powerful design characteristics of Mitsubishi Motors, we are pursuing designs that are more stylish, energetic and different than before," he said.
Even so, Watanabe hopes that many consumers will discover what Mitsubishi Motors has to offer and can understand and have an emotional connection with the design of The New SUV.
