Honda HR-V Competitor, Chery Introduces Chery Tiggo 5X Compact SUV
It is certain that the Chery Tiggo 5X will soon be sold in Indonesia, and as an initial step, Chery's new SUV will take part in the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. The Tiggo 5X itself is a B-Segment compact SUV that competes with the Honda HR-V with an attractive and sporty design.
"We will introduce Tiggo 5X at IIMS 2024, and we will launch it in the near future," said Rifkie Setiawan, Head of Public Relations PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) in his remarks at the IIMS 2024 Press Conference, Tuesday (7/2).
Apart from the Tiggo 5X, Rifkie CSI said it would display 7 other superior products, such as; 1 unit of Omoda RZ, 1 unit of Omoda GT, 3 units of Omoda E5, 1 unit of Tiggo 7 Pro, and 1 unit of Tiggo 8 Pro Max.
Chery Tiggo 5X Bigger than Honda HR-V
In recent years, the trend for compact SUVs has been very popular in Indonesia. Apart from being easy to drive in and out of town, this type of car is also suitable for traveling out of town because it has high ground clearance and strong cruising range.
Appearing for the first time at the IIMS 2024, in terms of dimensions the Tiggo 5X has an overall length of 4,358 mm, width of 1,830 mm, height of 1,670 mm and a wheelbase of 2,630 mm.
What about the HR-V? On paper, the length reaches 4,330 mm (4385 mm Turbo RS), width 1,790 mm, height 1,590 mm with a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. To draw a slight conclusion, overall the Tiggo 5X in terms of dimensions is larger than the HR-V.
Tiggo 5X Pro, a modern SUV that offers driving comfort
Carrying a premium feel, Tiggo 5X also offers driving comfort. As can be seen, this car is equipped with a 10.25 inch capacitive touch screen head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
There is also a panoramic roof with ambient light which can improve driving style. Apart from that, this car also gets Online Voice Control, 4 way manual adjustable steering wheel, and 6 way manual adjustment front seat.
The instrument panel looks very informative and modern thanks to the use of a 7 inch full digital screen. Maintaining air quality in the cabin, this car is equipped with a PM 2.5 filter dual-zone climate control with additional ventilation in the second row.
Providing a comfortable and prestigious driving feeling, the seats are wrapped in premium leather plus soft touch material in several parts. Oh yes, the driver's seat of this car is equipped with a 6-way adjustment that feels ergonomic, as well as a steering wheel with a tilt & telescopic feature.
Relying on a 1,500 Cc Naturally Aspirated Engine
The Chery Tiggo 5X is equipped with a 1,500 cc Naturally Aspirated (NA) 4-cylinder in-line engine which can produce up to 114 PS of power at 6,150 rpm with a torque of 141 Nm at 3,800 rpm. The engine is paired using a CVT transmission which is then transmitted to the front wheels to make it run.
